Friends,

Today we were expecting to have a medical mission for 1000 people but when the local volunteers handed out the tickets needed for people to be treated they got it wrong and the tickets stated it was for a whole family and Filipino families are large! We totally ran out of money and medicine but once again the angels came to our rescue, the British Chamber of Commerce – Philippines, BWA, Springboard, even the Philippine Coast Guard Volunteers (if you visit Puerto Gallera look for Frontier Diving and Rick (rickthediver@yahoo.co.uk) as he arranged this all the way from Puerto. Colliers drove the donations, Janet Kelly lent a car for a week and I have so many others I really should thank but then this email would be massive. The doctors, nurses and volunteers were fantastic!

It was impossible to get good photos of so many people during the medical mission and it felt wrong taking photos of people who are ill, we are not here to exploit the children but to help them. So only a few photos (you may be glad as I know I have been sending out so many, again apologies).

We really have no idea how many were treated, 1000 tickets were handed out (they ended up one per family) then many turned up without tickets but needing help.

Pastora Teresita, her Doctors and nurses, Medic Randy (the US tax expert) all were heros!

With news another typhoon may be on its way or that more water will be released from La Mesa time is not on our side, we have to stop sickness and prepare. Fungal infections, muscle pain, wounds, coughs, obviously stomach problems and many other illnesses are being treated, some were serious cases.

We are now also distributing relief goods at Payatas as a number of families have lost everything there, also Bagong Silangan. The children in the children’s homes have been working so hard packing rescue packs! It will be another long night but the support you good people are giving us keeps us going.

Here is what we were doing last night, each family had two bottles of drinking water, a bag of clothes and a bag of food. All desperately needed. Food prices are shooting up as the shops are not getting deliveries and are taking advantage and safe drinking water is essential as the biggest problem now is the risk of disease.

As you can see we had angels join us last night, working so hard until they were exhausted.

We need another medical mission and the people need sleeping mats in additional to the other goods we are distributing.

We passed some of the families who had lost children in the flood, I was able to pray for one family  but felt totally inadequate, if you pray please keep supporting us in prayer.

We really cannot thank you enough but see the smiles on the people’s faces!

Blessings,

Craig.
